In your "Power Connection Fix" Link, you mention Plus, Ground and Charge Mods. Where on your site do you find instructions for those mods?
Chuck: Yes, those mods can be found on tlplanet.com and tlzone.net. I haven't done those mods so I don't have them listed. |

regarding the pair valve removal... I've heard the line to the exhaust gives a neg. press. in airbox and helps induce more airflow. any truth to this?
Chuck: Hey Matt, Nah thats not true. The airflow in the airbox is all over the place. Because TL intakes go suck suck ... suck suck. It is very choppy. Pair valve has little effect on the intake. Each exhaust pulse does suck some air from the airbox to mix some clean air with the exhaust dilluting the exhaust to pass emissions standards. But to the point of smoothing out the airflow -the smoother the air flow the less resistance to air going into the engine. The large airbox and RAM intake ports help. Some folks try to make the airbox bigger by removing the lid but that allows heated air into the motor which is even worse than choppy air for off the line. For track applications where you are always moving I can understand removing the lid. But for drag or street I would say leave the lid on. |

Hi chuck, I got a 99 tls w/ 02 tlr motor. crank/no start the power connector looks clean. pump makes noise. spark may be weak? but its there. HELP
Chuck: Yeah I have the same problem. New plugs and clean all electrical until there is a good spark. My motor sat for a while so I opened it up and cleaned the stator and rotor -was a buildup on them. |

Chuck: On tlplanet.com and tlzone.net I have seen some stock bodywork for sale. Also look into the ones on ebay -have seen some great schemes. Good luck! |

Did TRE mod. Got better off idle and want to keep mod - but red FI light on tach lit and LCD flops temp and "FI" every ~5 sec. Heard of this? Ideas?
Chuck: Haven't heard of any common FI code issues from the TRE. You should put the bike in dealer mode to see what the code/ problem is. (how to retrieve code is in the FAQ on the TL page) |

Thanks for Plug suggestion! - front one was bad. Stator bad too-to be replaced. ? - clutch VERY sensitive, ~1/8 for engagment, is this typical?
Chuck: Your clutch is normal. You may want to flush it to regain some of your grab. Instructions are on this site :) Also do the electrical fix BEFORE investing in a new stator, again instructions within... |
